Hemp/Organic Cotton

Our hemp/organic cotton T-shirt fabric at 200gsm is more substantial and has a more luxuriant feel. In five colours and in mens and womens sizes it is casual but also dressy. We can print our images or you can customize your own with your images and text.

Why Hemp/Organic Cotton?

Because we don’t grow cotton in NZ there is no fabric available apart from our world famous woollen products. We are importing a hemp/organic cotton mix to fill the gap.

Hemp is now legal to grow here and is a great cash crop for farmers which would reduce the pollution from conventional farming.

Hemp puts 50% of it’s goodness back in the soil and it’s fibres break down without chemicals. It uses 4 times less water than cotton and doesn’t need pesticides and herbicides. Add in all it’s medicinal uses and it’s a wonder plant!

Hemp yarn is being produced here  http://hempfarms.co.nz but we need entrepreneurs to find machinery and start making fabric. Imagine a hemp/possum mix. Save the land and the trees!
